Lorna is employed by Sylvanian Child Services as a local liaison. When the SCS official Tiberius Rivers had a case in Mellowdene he formed an attachment with the village. He thought it was the sort of place in which children would settle, so they bought a house where Lorna would look after those children. When she has no official wards to care for, she tries to help by looking after village children when that would help parents in a fix. For example, when the McBurrows moles were having temporary problem changing accommodation, Delvin and Monty McBurrows stayed with her.
Dolly Dale supplies Candy Floss to the village from her mobile sweetie-cycle.
Barbara Dale's brother is Dominic Dingle. He is married to Rebecca and they have a little lamb Katharina. Dominic cultivates the echo worms that produce synthetic (but organic) equivalents of wool, cotton and other yarns.

Some might consider this unusual but this is not the place to discuss the various attributes of Sylvanian ageing. Suffice to say that Sylvanians have different physical stages in their lives. This seems more pronounced with Sylvanian birds - one need only look at the Websters in Mellowdene - adults that continue to be diminutive in size.
The Renard Fox family (10)
Eric and Trudi Renard have a son Baden, a daughter Mikaela and a toddler Carrie.

They have two sets of triplets: Winky, Blinky and Grumpy are one. The others are Fussy, Sniffy and Grizzly. Together, these six small owls assist their parents in their calling for knowledge and understanding.
Winky (orange jerkin) is able to see the absurd possibilities in a potential situation. His pale eyes almost light up with his ideas.
Blinky (yellow jerkin) is sometimes able to make weird connections, thinking laterally, but that requires him to take brief naps.
Grumpy (red jerkin) is able to see the down side of any situation, which, given the upbeat nature of Sylvanians, is a unique skill. It does give the impression that he is indeed grumpy but this isn't really the case. Fussy (blue jerkin) is a stickler for accuracy.
Sniffy (pale blue jerkin) is eager to find solutions.
Grizzly (green jerkin) is particularly empathetic, and he is almost tearful with joy or sadness. Thankfully the latter has no effect on his psyche. Aristotle, Arabella,

Chocolate share an apartment with Tegan Golightly. One of the reasons they

Love all your families, the names and lives you have given them! i'm impressed with your organizational skill..if you don't mind sharing, how do you store them? i've not been collecting SF for very long, and have concentrated on buildings to make my village, Thistledown. i've just started on the families, don't have room to keep them in their boxes, and could use some advice to keep them safe. thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteHi 4 Thistledown!
DeleteGlad to have you aboard. One of the reasons for starting the blog, other than writing stories, was to have somewhere to document and provide a little organisation to keep track of my collection.
The vast majority of my Sylvanians are second-hand (pre-loved seems to be the fashionable term) from eBay, so whilst not in poor condition, they are not mint as new. My storage method would probably be disdained by proper collectors, as I simply try to keep them where household dust is unlikely to settle. At the end of my hallway there is a display cabinet that contains glassware. The glassware is crammed more than it used to be because most of my Sylvanians are in there, peeking out where possible. As my collection as grown I have added plastic trays in there so that more figures can be packed into the cabinet, lying down. As I said, pure collectors would be horrified! Now, I have some plastic craft drawers on top of the cabinet, where bears, pandas and dogs live.
It works for me because they are readily accessible for photo sessions and I can see most of my bunnies, which I enjoy. If you want to take better care of your Sylvanians, I'm sure there are long-standing collectors on the forum who can give you good advice! I think some people store them in containers ensuring figures don't touch, including silica gel and more. I wouldn't have space to do that.
I hope you get the information you seek. The members of the collectors' forum are lovely people and will be happy to give you better guidance, meeting your needs.
There is a Storage, Maintenance and Repair topic on the Forum.
Deletei'm new to this site, so i don't understand how i'm listed as unknown...anyway, i have very recently joined as "4 Thistledown"...this is the only way i can think of to let you know who i am....
ReplyDeleteIf you have a gmail account, you can log onto the Blogger site (it is one of Google's products) and register - you don't necessarily have to create a blog. You can, however, give yourself an avatar name and a picture if you wish. That's where my Jackson Butterglove avatar/pic was set up.
DeleteWhilst logged in, I am recognised and can comment as Jackson on any other blogs. I have another gmail account that I have linked with my Darcy Fielding avatar. Giving the latter author authority on this blog allows me to write/comment as either Sylvanian character, simply by logging on with the associated gmail account.
I hope this doesn't sound too complex. It's easier to do than describe.
If you don't want the hassle, that's fine. "Unknown" comments are appreciated too, and you can always sign-off with your Sylvanian alias!
